Spiderman, The History.
Spiderman was created by Stan Lee in 1962 for Marvel Comics; Stan Lee was 16 when he joined Marvel Comics. Spiderman Character first appeared in a comic book series, “Amazing Fantasy” # 15. The comic was such a hit that Amazing Fantasy was renamed Amazing Spider-Man and Stan lee was promoted a year later. He became the youngest editor in the comic’s book history. Primarily due to overwhelming popularity of Spiderman, Marvel Comics became one of the dominant comic’s book publishers by the start of the next decade. Stan Lee change the new era of the comics when Spiderman lived in the real world and with real people, not in the Gotham City or Metropolis.
In 1977, Spider-Man appeared in his own newspaper strip and ultimately appearing in more than 500 newspapers around the world and became the longest running super heroes comics strips of them all. Spider-Man was written throughout from the beginning until the late 1990’s by Stan Lee when he left Marvel Comics. And his younger brother Larry Lieber only drew the daily newspaper comics for Marvel since the late 1980’s when Larry replace Fred Kids as the artist for “ The Amazing Spider-Man” .
Spider-Man popularity then been bought to his first animated television series, Spider-Man in 1967, premiering on ABC network and running throughout 1967 and 1968 seasons. An attempted to go further with this character, Spider-Man appeared on a live action series, but it only last for 2 years , 1977 to 1979. It is not overwhelming as the previous superheroes live action television as Batman and Superman. The Spider-Man spread throughout the world, and interest Toei Animation from Japan to produced a Japanese version of live action television series. The costume was similar, but sadly the story line is different from the original version.
The return of Spider-Man television animated series began in 1981 -1982, and “Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends” came afterwards featuring others superheroes included Incredible Hulk, Ice Man, and Fire Stars and this series aired on NBC from 1982 -1985. Spider-Man than return with 65 episodes in the 1990’s, said to be most successful Spiderman animated series, running from 1994 – 1998. The follow-up series, Spiderman Unlimited was short –lived and pulled off the air to make room for Japanese anime. Besides all the animated series and the comic version of Spider-Man, there is an attempted throughout the year to bring the Spider-Man to Cinema until the first Spider-Man live action featured film released in summer 2002 by Colombia Pictures and directed by Sam Raimi. The sequel than released in 2005, Spiderman 2 and still we are waiting for the Spiderman 3 in 2007.
Spider-Man was one of the first and most popular comic strip or comic books crossover stories. Not only he gained the worldwide fame, but for me he is still one of the most popular superheroes of all time. Long live Spider-Man
